Professional Objective
Dr. Swenson founded Neuropsychology Associates in 2001 with a vision for
providing exemplary, personalized neuropsychological and psychological
services.
Current Clinical Responsibilities
Dr. Swenson is a board certified Neuropsychologist who operates
Neuropsychology Associates and serves adult patients and their families. Dr. Swenson also holds an appointment as
Clinical Professor at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and
Health Sciences.
He is active in teaching medical students, residents, and
graduate psychology students. In 2008,
he was awarded with the Dean’s Recognition Award from the UND Medical School
for his commitment to teaching.
Professional Interests and Activities
In addition to having a full-time clinical practice, Dr. Swenson has
been involved in research in the areas of Alzheimer’s and Vascular dementia his
entire professional career. He is a member of CENDA (Consortium for the
Examination of Neuropsychological Data in Aging) which is a multi-center
collaborative research group with members in Boston, Philadelphia, New York,
San Diego, Chicago, Florida and Fargo. Dr. Swenson is a Fellow in the American College of Professional Neuropsychology as
well as a Fellow of the National Academy of Neuropsychology.
Education
Dr. Swenson earned his doctoral degree from the
University of North Dakota. He completed
his fellowship in Neuropsychology at the Boston V.A. Medical Center, with
appointments at the Boston University School of Medicine and Harvard, under the
supervision of Dr. Edith Kaplan who is renowned for her critical role in
establishing neuropsychology as a specialty area of study. He also had the distinct privilege of
learning directly from Dr. Norman Geschwind, a founder of the field of
Behavioral Neurology.
Personal Interests
Dr. Swenson is married and treasures spending time with his
family and friends.
