Current Clinical Responsibilities
Dr. Meidinger joined Neuropsychology
Associates in 2007. She specializes in complex medical presentations and
neurodevelopmental disorders in children, adolescents, and younger adults.
Dr. Meidinger focuses on diagnostic assessment and recommendations for management
of neurodevelopmental conditions like ADHD, dyslexia, and language disorders
and complex symptoms arising from medical conditions like traumatic brain
injury, treatment of cancer, spina bifida, and congenital heart disease.
Dr. Meidinger's clinical practice relies
heavily on collaboration with other disciplines including mental health
providers, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical
therapists, educators, and physicians. Dr. Meidinger also has an appointment as
Adjunct Clinical Professor at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Professional Interests and Activities
Competence as a neuropsychologist requires not
only an understanding of brain structure and function, but of general
psychological principles. As a result, Dr. Meidinger spends a considerable
amount of time learning about various topics in child development,
developmental psychology, and neuroanatomy as well as
psychological/neuropsychological assessment. Dr. Meidinger is a member of the
American Psychological Association, the International Neuropsychological Society,
and the National Academy of Neuropsychology.
Education
Dr. Meidinger obtained her Master’s degree
from North Dakota State University with an emphasis in Applied Behavior
Analysis and completed a PhD in Medical (Clinical) Psychology with an emphasis
in Neuropsychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her
predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship were completed at the
University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Health/Medical Psychology and
Neuropsychology, respectively.
Personal Interests
In her free time, Dr. Meidinger enjoys
reading, spending time outdoors, and yoga.
