Dr. Rod Swenson was the invited guest speaker for seminar sponsored by the UND University Counseling Center on Friday, April 13th, 2018.

The topic of this seminar was treatment issues related to traumatic brain injury (TBI), particularly within the student population.

Dr. Swenson presented the audience with a basic understanding of TBI and how it is assessed and treated within current medical settings. The talk was followed by an interdepartmental discussion focused on collaborative care models for TBI patients in this region. Professionals from many disciplines then discussed care models to best support and assist persons with TBI.

The roundtable discussion was quite helpful in addressing some of the individual needs that many students have as they attempt to re-enter the academic community while recovering from and dealing with the effects of traumatic brain injury.
